Pregnant!

I found out I was pregnant on Thursday November 1. It's actually a pretty funny story...late the night before, on Halloween, I had gotten a text from one of my best friends, Erica. Her text read: "Are you pregnant?" I didn't see this text until the next morning when I then replied, "Not that I know of, why?" She then simply responded, "Haha just checking."

This all got me thinking. Alllll day. I was not planning on taking a test that day, but for some reason, Erica's comment was stuck in my brain. So when I got home from work that evening, I decided to take a pregnancy test fully knowing it was going to be negative, but I just wanted to put my mind at ease once and for all. Three minutes later I see.......two very distinct pink lines. WHAT??!!  My heart was pounding out of my chest and I just kept saying "Oh my god!" over and over. 

Kevin didn't get home from class until later that night and I was so nervous to tell him! I could not figure out the right words to say so I just shoved my phone with a picture of the test in front of his nose and said, "What does this look like to you?"  I think his brain kind of shut off for a few minutes haha. It was definitely a surprise! At first he thought since the line was a little faint, that it was not a for sure positive...but after I informed him that it very much was positive he started smiling. Obviously we both were a huge mix of emotions - happy, nervous, excited, anxious...but overall we CANNOT WAIT for this baby to come!!

I am officially 4 weeks and 3 days along and am experiencing just about every early symptom in the book! I've got a constant dull achy crampy stomach, dizzy spells, hot flashes, increased sense of smell, weird appetite, and extreme sleepiness! And it is absolutely killing me to not be able to tell anyone our wonderful news!! We've decided to wait and tell everyone around the holidays (Merry Christmas!) when I am a bit further along. It's going to be the longest 7 weeks ever! But I can't wait to spill the beans to all of our friends and family! Until then, I will be keeping track of everything on here as much as possible. Our estimated due date is July 2013 and it can't get here fast enough! I can't wait to meet our little summer sparkler!
